The starting point
A watering issue had left this Fort Worth property with a nearly bare lawn. The existing grass variety wasn’t drought resistant, so restoring it meant looking beyond the surface and understanding the growing conditions.
Start with the soil
We tested the soil to assess nutrient levels, salinity, and soil composition. The findings guided soil corrections intended to bring conditions back within suitable ranges for growth.
Build the conditions for recovery
The work included aeration, overseeding, fertilization, and top dressing. Together with the soil corrections, these steps were intended to help new seed germinate, establish roots, and support the lawn’s long-term health.
Adapt when the plan needs it
We didn’t have the right equipment at the start. Rather than let that slow the work, we rented the machinery the project needed and absorbed the additional cost. It reinforced a lesson Brett carries into every project: plan carefully, stay flexible, and see the work through.
The result
Over the 2022–2024 project, the lot went from nearly bare to a lawn Brett describes as looking like a golf green. It remains one of the restorations he’s most proud of—a visible transformation built through sustained work.
